Night Owl Circus Arts (formerly Johnson City Circus Arts) was founded by Craig Lewis in March 2013 with the goal of offering Johnson City s first public beginner classes in aerial silks. Today, we have locations in Johnson City and Kingsport, and offer classes in many different circus arts, including aerial silks, lyra, trapeze, corde lisse, juggling, tumbling, hammock, and aerial yoga. Our classes are primarily for adults, but we also offer a weekly kids class. Our classes are open to men and women of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds. Our performance branch puts on annual public performances, and also offers performers for hire at events, including festivals, weddings, corporate events, parties, and college events. We also provide rigging, equipment and consulting services for local theatrical groups including Barter Theater, and Jonesborough Repertory Theater. Most recently, we worked with Barter Theater on training their actors in juggling for their production of Big Fish in 2015, and aerial silks for Chicago: The Musical in 2016. Our company s mission is to show people that circus arts is for everyone! Taking an aerial silks class is a great place to start, regardless of your age or fitness level. Serendipity Synopsis The Brackenshire Circus is owned by a family of three women: Felicity, Serendipity s mother Fleur, Felicity s sister and ring master for the circus and Serendipity, a talented child aerialist. As the show opens, the circus is visited by a group of aristocrats. Among them is Sophie the Sorceress, who catches the Medallion thrown into the audience at every performance. Sophie takes this as a sign that she is destined to join the circus and become an aerialist. When her audition doesn t go well, Sophie is humiliated. She becomes enraged and casts a spell on the three owners of the circus, the other performers, and her own family. Sophie then becomes the ring master and takes control of the circus, banishing Serendipity from the show and erasing her memory. Years later, the evil ring master is still in charge of the circus and its performers. The adolescent Serendipity sells flowers just outside the circus tent and sleeps on a park bench. She is drawn to the circus and the silks, but does

Screening Preparation: All of our ultrasound screenings are non-invasive and painless, as is our EKG for atrial fibrillation, also called irregular heartbeat. Even our blood screenings only require a simple finger-stick and few drops of blood. Our screenings also require very little or no preparation. While some screenings involve several hours of fasting, others only require loose clothing or short sleeves. We try to make it as easy as possible for our customers to take control of their health. Check below to see if there s anything you need to do before your screening. Carotid Artery Disease (plaque): Wear a shirt that is open at the collar and short-sleeved. Do not wear a turtleneck. Heart Rhythm Screening (Atrial Fibrillation): Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit consisting of loose clothing. Do not wear pantyhose. Do not wear a watch. Keep your cell phone turned off. Do not wear lotion or oil. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening: Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit consisting of loose clothing. Fast for 4 hours prior to your screening. Make sure the meal you eat 4 hours prior to your screening is a light one (less than 1 2 of what you normally eat of non-gassy food). If you are thirsty during your fasting period, you may have 1 2 cup of coffee or tea and a moderate amount of water. If you take medication, take it as prescribed. If you are diabetic and are not comfortable fasting for 4 hours, please limit yourself to a diabetic meal (piece of toast, 1 cup of any kind of juice and 1 2 cup coffee or tea). If you are in doubt, please follow your diabetic care plan. Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening: Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit consisting of loose clothing. Wear a short-sleeved shirt or blouse. Do not wear pantyhose. Osteoporosis Risk Assessment: Do not wear pantyhose.

This time, take a walk on the wild side with us as we celebrate the centuries old performance of burlesque! The term stems from the Italian phrase burla which means to mock, trick, or joke. In the 16th century, a burlesque performance could be described as a parody or an outlandish caricature like performance. Typically, performers would mock famous artists or cultural figures of the time and create over the top characters. While burlesque often highlights the comedic nature, it wasn t until later that the art of the striptease was introduced. Our evening will feature a version leaning more toward these comedic roots of the performance with a little dash of risqu for the perfect recipe for a great night!
