Explore your fitness abilities with the Deerslayer Obstacle Course Race! We will have 3.2 miles of mixed terrain, paved unpaved areas over hilly forested areas and open fields. Tire flip, Monkey bars, Multi-walls, Bucket Brigade, Rope Climb, Balance Beam and at least 14 more. Reg. deadlines and Entry Fees: Fees are Non-refundable. Jan. 1-31-For Fun $45 person, Competitive $50 person Feb 1-28-For Fun $50 person, Competitive $55 person March 1-30-For Fun $55 person, Compettive $60 person. First Responders Discount: $5 good until March 1, 2017. All racers receive an Event T-shirt and medal Racers Competitive and For Fun must be 15 years of age or older. Proof of age required at Packet Pickup and Race Day Sign-In. All waivers, including parental consent, must be signed prior to race. Registration: Online at http: www.JCDeerslayer.net or in person at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St. , Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Packet Pick Up: MPCC (Activities Room) 510 Bert St. - March 30-31, 4-8 p.m. There will be NO RACE DAY registration (Bag check available Race Day - $2) There will be NO refunds for any reason-this is a charitable event and No transfers of registrations will be accepted after March 15, 2017. All funds support the Johnson City Senior Center Foundation which provides outreach and program support for adults 50 years and older through the Johnson City Senior Center.

Salvador Dal and the Divine Comedy Part II: Purgatory opens April 5, 2017 and continues through June 30, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The guest of honor is Dr. Frank Barham, an ETSU alumnus, who, in 2014, donated the Salvador Dal s illustrations for the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Salvador Dal s surrealist vision makes the 33 prints of Part II: Purgatory, frightening real. Each print illustrates one canto (book chapter) of the Divine Comedy in which Virgil guides Dante up the Mount of Purgatory. In 2016, the Reece Museum displayed Salvador Dal and the Divine Comedy Part I: Inferno. In the spring of 2018, the Reece Museum will display the final installment, Part III: Paradise.

You will find out why geology rocks in this workshop all about the wonders of the science of geology. Formulate your own ooey gooey quicksand and make a sinkhole in a cup. Explore the differences between rocks and minerals, then try out a rock and mineral hardness test while learning about Mohs Hardness Scale! A healthy snack is included. Cost $12 for members, $15 for non-members. Ages 5-13. Payment is required with registration by Wednesday, March 29th.
