Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase a 3D mammography unit for Sycamore Shoals Hospital. This new technology enables earlier and more accurate detection of cancer than the traditional two-dimensional equipment. The Jam is a 7.4 mile point-to-point race beginning at RunAbout Sports in Blacksburg, utilizing the entire length of the eponymous rail trail and finishing at the Christiansburg Rec Center. Shuttles will be available to transport runners back to RunAbout Sports upon completion.
