2. TWC First Friday Drum Circle

July 7th. The Warriors Canvas invites the JC Community Drum Circle to form up in front of The Warriors Canvas for First Friday Downtown from 7 PM to 9 PM. This will be in the street. Come down and beat a drum, dance, Hoop or just chill out. I have already talked with the Hoopers and they are up for it. Now let s see if we can bring a beat for them. TWC is going to have to look at how many chairs we have. We are looking at having 10 - 12 fold up chairs available. TWC is 2 doors down from Nelson s, in the same block as Hands-On Museum. Main Street will be closed off at 5:30 PM. If needed, you can drop off your equipment at TWC then find a parking spot. If it runs as usual, I should be there at around 5:15 - 5:30 to allow for the drop off. If there are any questions, please ask on this post and I will try to answer them.

Busking Around The World revolves around the idea of promoting the talents of local performers (musicians, dancers, artists, craftspeople, entertainers, etc.) and encouraging more of a vibrant, walkable downtown area. This year we re expanding our mindset, incorporating a multi-cultural component that promotes diversity. We re going to represent and celebrate the many different cultures of the world. Crowds will be able to walk around downtown on July 15th and immerse themselves in the cuisine, entertainment, crafts, and atmosphere of numerous cultures from across the world. This exciting event will need at least 20 volunteers. Volunteer responsibilities include: Helping cultural organizations set up or breakdown (depending on the shift) tables and tents Making change so that patrons can tip buskers Monitoring the crowd and directing flow Helping with children s activities Volunteers will check in for their shift at the DKA office on Broad Street.
