1. Manatees And Diving = Amazing Three Day Trip!

Join Immersed Scuba on our most popular U.S. trip of the year! We will be staying at the Beautiful Waterfront Best West Crystal River. This hotel is conveniently located on the water and is where we load our privately chartered boats to see the manatees. On Friday at 4pm, Zach and Dale will lead one dive before sunset. Then once the sun goes down they will do a night dive for our more adventurous divers. Saturday is full of fun for everyone! After breakfast at the hotel, we will load the boats and our staff will guide you in the search for manatees! We will be on the water from 8am to Noon. This is a perfect time for the entire family to get in the water and snorkel with manatees. Unlike most tours, by renting the entire boat, we get to spend hours of time interacting with the manatees. Manatees are so inquisitive you will fall in love with them instantly! Water temperature is 72, but the air will be chilly so please bring a 3mm-5mm wet suit. If you don t have one that s ok, the dive shop located at the hotel has them availablefor rent. Saturday Afternoon, Any one that still has energy can join Dale at Devils Den. This dive site is one of the most interesting in the US. To enter the dive site, you have to go down stairs through a little cave opening where the lagoon awaits you. Once down the stairs, there are decks, waist deep, to put on your fins. When you look up you can see the sky through an opening above you. This gives you the feeling of being under the earth but with the reassurance you can see the sky. This is Zach s favorite spring in Florida. It is a great place to dive for fun, do check off dives, or build confidence diving through swim throughs. Water temp is 72 and the bottom does not silt up. Snorkeling is also welcome but you have to be 6 years old. Sunday Morning we wrap up this great weekend with breakfast at the hotel, then off to Rainbow River (8am) for a drift dive or snorkel. The Rainbow River is the cleanest drift dive you will find on our coast. Water temp is 72 and the visibility is 30-50 FEET in a river! This is a great

7. Aerial Arts Photoshoots With Keith Dixon

Keith Dixon is coming to Johnson City Circus Arts and doing an aerial photoshoot! He is an absolutely incredible photographer, and has a lot of experience specifically with shooting aerialists. He s going to be setting up a backdrop behind the silks. He s going to work with each student privately for a 30-minute photo session. We ll have an instructor present throughout the photoshoots to provide aerial guidance or spotting if needed. You ll be able to choose your silk color. We also have slings, trapeze, lyra, and corde lisse available, or you can even bring your own apparatus. SOME aerial background is obviously required, but even just having two or three classes under your belt should be enough to get some great photos of basic moves with my guidance! And these photoshoots ARE open to kids from our kids classes too! Wearing black clothing is disgouraged since the backdrop will be black. Each student will receive 5 high res watermarked digital images from their shoot. Prints, and photo CDs with more edited photos will be available for an additional cost. 9. 2017 Master Gardener Training Program

The 2017 Master Gardener Training program begins January 10 and runs through May 2 on Tuesday evenings, 6-9 pm. The 50-hour program is open to applicants throughout Southwestern Virginia and Northeastern Tennessee. The course is based on a wealth of educational materials developed by Virginia Cooperative Extension, a community outreach program of Virginia Tech. It s the perfect forum to develop and enhance gardening skills of all levels and the perfect opportunity to meet others that share your interest in gardening! Early bird registration cost is $135 which includes a copy of the Master Gardener Handbook. Two people may register together for a reduced rate of $180 per pair. After Dec. 21st, the price is $155 for individuals or $200 for a pair. Applications are due by December 21, 2016. Registration ends January 3, 2017. 10. Turtle Triathlon

Turtle Triathlon is designed for ages 55 who wish to compete in a triathlon but are unable to do so in one day. The Goal: Complete each section (events do not have to be completed in order and participants may alternate between events as desired. Participants will be given a log book at the time of registration to track their progress. A celebration event will take place on March 6 (time to be announced) for everyone completing the triathlon. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and medal. Fees for the fitness room and open lap swim will be waived for the 8-week period for all participants registered by Jan. 9. Participants will be assigned a random number. Registrants must complete the weekly training log and submit the results to staff weekly in order to continue free use of the fitness room and pool. Results will be charged weekly. Registration till be taken at the Senior Services Desk.
