1. Brian Culbertson Funk! Tour

Brian Culbertson is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer who crosses genres between contemporary jazz, R&B and funk. Heralding from the musically rich city of Chicago, he began his musical studies at the early age of 8 on piano and quickly picked up several other instruments by age 12 including drums, trombone, bass, and euphonium. Inspired by the great R&B Jazz Pop artists of the 70 s like Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Chicago, David Sanborn, and others, Brian Culbertson started composing original music for his 7th grade piano recital and hasn t stopped having self-produced 16 solo albums, most of which have topped the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts. Having worked and performed with countless industry all-stars like Michael McDonald, Chris Botti, Ledisi, Barry Manilow, Herb Alpert, Natalie Cole, Chuck Brown, and Bootsy Collins just to name a few, Brian has received numerous awards including being nominated for a 2012 NAACP Image Award and a 2012 Soul Train Award. Also in 2012, he founded the Napa Valley Jazz Getaway now in its fifth year. This performance is a fundraising event for Niswonger Children s Hospital.

2. Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser For I.a. Camp

We will be hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the summer I.A. camps. Pick up or eat in options available from our Emporium, 146 Broad Street. Cost is $10pp. The Patriotic Tribute will be performed at the theatre at 7:00pm. Make it a nice night out come eat and support a worthy cause and enjoy a wonderful show! We also need donations of homemade desserts for this evening. Thanks so much!

Our July PEAK Around Town will be held in one of Kingport s newest establishments - High Voltage! Located on the corner of Cherokee and Main Street (part of The 101 development), High Voltage has something for everyone. For the July PEAK Around Town, High Voltage will be serving craft beer, cider, and soda, as well as sharing boards to snack on. There will be yard games, including cornhole and giant Jenga. A big thank you to our friends at High Voltage Kingsport for opening on a Thursday to host PEAK!

On Thursday, July 6th, William King Museum of Art hosts its 3rd annual Big Messy, First Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy a paint slide, popsicles, balloons and a local D.J. Goodson Kinderhook Volunteer Fire Department will provide a foam pit. Come spend an evening on the Museum s front lawn while enjoying the long days of summer.Last year s festivities were well attended with a crowd of over 400. Admission is free for all to enjoy. Slocumb Galleries Curatorial Fellow and Interns Moira Frazier, Cheyenne Good and Amber Howard presents group exhibition of Northeast TN artists at Our Appalachia: Community and Innovations from June 26 to July 18 at Slocumb Galleries and from July 3 to 28, at Tipton Gallery. Reception is on July 6, Thursday from 5-7 pm at Slocumb Galleries with TN Arts Commission s Program Director for Visual Arts, Craft and Media, Krishna Adams as guest of honor. The exhibit features work by artists from various towns within the TriCities region (and bordering NC) and various art organizations whose work either explore the concept of communities or embody innovative artistic techniques. Some of the artists include Calvin Nicely(African Appalachia) John Edwin May (Morristown), Patti Lawrence, Anne Thwaites, Wayne Culberston, Don Morris, Jeffery Stoner (Kingsport), Mira Gerard, Vanessa Mayoraz, Andrew Scott Ross (ETSU Art), Theresa Markiw (Tanasi), Ralph Slatton (Erwin), Jim Stagner (Watauga Art League), Mindy Herrin (TN Craft State of Franklin), Jocelyn Matthews, Liz Layton, Alice Salyer (Johnson City), Art Brown (Milligan), Jeanine Marchand, Alex McClay, Shane Fero (Penland), Megan King (Hispanic Appalachia), Travis Graves (Elizabethton), Pat Mink (Greeneville), Val Lyle (Bristol), Aleta Chandler (Gray Art Curious), and Randy Sanders (Jonesborough Reece Museum). A Engagement Post to potentially amplify the reach of your posts on Facebook and on Instagram. Finally another ad that could help increase traffic to their website using a Call-to-Action button. These ads require a commitment to spend $5 day minimum for each ad from Facebook to go live. We will walk through each of the campaigns up until purchase. Attendees will decide if they wish to promote the ads created in the workshop. It s important to have visuals and content ready to use if creating the ad within the workshop.
