We will be hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the summer I.A. camps. Pick up or eat in options available from our Emporium, 146 Broad Street. Cost is $10pp. The Patriotic Tribute will be performed at the theatre at 7:00pm. Make it a nice night out come eat and support a worthy cause and enjoy a wonderful show! We also need donations of homemade desserts for this evening. Thanks so much!

Join us for week 4 of KAS Day Camp! Every day kids will complete a craft, participate in one of the daily kids classes, have outside play time, eat packed lunch, and swim!! Kids will stay active and have lots of fun! Cost is $100 for members for 1 child and $80 for each additional sibling. Cost is $120 for non-members for 1 child and $100 for each additional sibling. Spots are starting to fill up, so sign up soon! A $25 non-refundable deposit per child is due at the time of sign up.

Our judge will review it, select a limited number of pieces to hang in our gallery, and award prize money to the best of the best. The Festival s gallery offers an opportunity to sell you work, as well, as receive print recognition and news coverage. Entries will be accepted at the Arts Depot (behind the post office on Main Street in downtown Abingdon, VA) on Saturday, July 22 And Sunday, July 23 Between 2 5 pm. Once again we are proud to offer more than $1,500 in cash prizes for work chosen by juror Robert Tynes, with one People s Choice prize to be voted on by the public. Tynes is currently professor of art in painting and drawing at UNC Asheville. As we like to do each year, our juror will give a lecture on the evening of Thursday, July 27th at 7PM to present the awards and talk about why each work was chosen. Hope to see you there! ia.As part of its 65th anniversary this year, Farris Funeral Service & Crematory will host the second installment of the Farris Funeral Service Learning Series at noon on Monday, June 26, at the Forest Hills Chapel, located at 19415 Lee Highway in Abingdon, Virginia Kim Farris-Luke, president and owner of Abingdon-based Farris Funeral Service & Crematory, along with Farris Blackson, aftercare coordinator, and funeral directors Stephen DeBord, Sam Hess and Amanda Perry, will honor veterans with an appreciation luncheon, and offer information on veterans services, honors and benefits. We are proud to honor our country s veterans, and give back to those whose dedication and selfless service define our great nation, Farris-Luke says. This seminar allows individuals the opportunity to voice any questions they may have about applying for a military funeral, including the various types of veteran honors and benefits that are available for their loved ones. Admission to the June 26 event is free of charge and open to the public. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to RSVP for lunch, call (276) 623-2700. The Farris Funeral Service Learning Series will be held on a quarterly basis throughout 2017. The next event is scheduled to be held in September.
