Night Owl Circus Arts

This workshop, using aerial straps, will focus on how to structure individual training programs and training over time to maximize muscular strength gains while adequately preparing joints and ligaments for more dynamic and challenging movement. We will cover a series of spotted and unspotted drills and techniques enabling you to progress pas plateaus in your training as well as complimentary exercises that will mitigate any strength imbalances. Aaron Koz is a straps, pole, and partner acrobatics artist teaching and performing in the Bay area. He started training parkour at the age of 16 in his hometown of Washington, D.C. and later found circus at Oberlin College. He has trained at Circus Warehouse (NYC), Circus Center and Kinetic Arts (SF), and with coaches such as Juan Luis Gonzalez (ECQ) and Jonathan Fortin (ENC). He currently teaches at Athletic Playground, Circus Center, and Dovetail, and has taught at Kinetic Arts and Acrosports. Aaron has a background in neuroscience, exercise psychology, and anatomy, which he brings to his work as a circus coach, personal trainer, and performer. Advance registration is required!
