Bristol s own Jackdaw s 7 bring their brand of Appalachian Alternative to Kingsport for one rip roarin good time at the Circus on Friday, Aug. 4! B&B BBQ will be serving! ---- Whether telling the haunting stories of a past generation or speaking of late night, whiskey tinged knife fights, the Jackdaw s 7 present with a vintage swagger that s rare to find. They play with a seasoned ease that comes with years of combined dedication. Their works invoke images of small country church youth spent in the innocence of the mystifying hills of East Tennessee. They come from the pioneering bloodlines that settled these wild back-country hills so long ago and their songs buzz with that same fierce independent spirit. Pulling from the musical heritage that surrounds their hometown of Bristol, they have made their sound homage to those righteous voices that birthed the genre in distant 1927. Singer Jason Wilson has been featured in several bands over the years including, Last In Line, The Ghoultones, The Blue Light Casualties and Stone Soup. Kevin Love has played in local regional and national touring bluegrass acts. Julia Wilson is a great fiddle player with an outstanding voice whom was previously involved with the ETSU Bluegrass Band. Scott Thomas is a legendary Bristol drummer formerly holding down rhythm with Puchin Judy and other notable bands. Bassist Ben Adams has toured with Asheville based Makia Groove, moving from jam band to country. Guitarist JP Parsons is also the lead singer and songwriter for JP Parsons and the American Bandwagon and has been a mainstay in the Tri-Cities music scene for better than 15 years. Jackdaw s 7, presenting Appalachian Alternative music through multi-harmonious vocals, traditional bluegrass instruments paired with classic country interpretation. Sad mournful songs to make Hank smile and tender love songs to make Buddy Holly cry.
