The Community Center of Abingdon
We all have stories to tell. Now, you can learn to tell your stories from one of the region's legendary storytellers...Donnamarie Emmert! You'll enjoy a six week workshop (Thursdays from 4-5pm) beginning on February 2, 4-5pm at The Community Center of Abingdon. Only $40 and includes a light dinner afterwards! Email info@thecommunitycenterofabingdon or call (276) 276-3911 to reserve your spot. Workshop has a limit of 15. Donnamarie Emmert is an experienced storyteller and writing instructor. Known locally as the Haint Mistress of Abingdon, she specializes in ghost and scary stories of her region. She has appeared on PBS and local news with her tales, and been a featured ghost expert in "These Hills Are Haunted" as well as other area paranormal film projects. She's been telling stories for over 20 years, and has told from the Sacramento Children's Fair in California to the Auchtenmuchty Folk Festival in Scotland. Emmert is also a local adjunct professor, teaching at VHCC, Emory and Henry, and until its closing, Virginia Intermont. In short, Donnamarie is da bomb.
