1. Aerial Straps With Aaron Koz
Monday, April 10th, 2017

Johnson City, TN
This workshop, using aerial straps, will focus on how to structure individual training programs and training over time to maximize muscular strength gains while adequately preparing joints and ligaments for more dynamic and challenging movement. We will cover a series of spotted and unspotted drills and techniques enabling you to progress pas plateaus in your training as well as complimentary exercises that will mitigate any strength imbalances. Aaron Koz is a straps, pole, and partner acrobatics artist teaching and performing in the Bay area. He started training parkour at the age of 16 in his hometown of Washington, D.C. and later found circus at Oberlin College. He has trained at Circus Warehouse (NYC), Circus Center and Kinetic Arts (SF), and with coaches such as Juan Luis Gonzalez (ECQ) and Jonathan Fortin (ENC). He currently teaches at Athletic Playground, Circus Center, and Dovetail, and has taught at Kinetic Arts and Acrosports. Aaron has a background in neuroscience, exercise psychology, and anatomy, which he brings to his work as a circus coach, personal trainer, and performer. Advance registration is required! No past clay experience required! I work with all experience levels to help you get the most out of my classes as you can! This is a 4-week class, meeting once a week on Thursdays, 5:30pm-8:30pm. We will make 3 projects: One fun, playful creation and two functional itmes for your kitchen or home. The first 3 classes we will be handbuilding and the last class we will glazing your creations. Limit to 6 in each class. A $20 deposit holds your spot. Deposit due no later than March 28th. Kids 10 may take the class with a parent. Location: ArtCurious Gallery, 2362 Boones Creek Rd. April 9 starting at 2:00. You will learn how to safely and effectively navigate obstacles in the arena and out on the trail. Learn how to read your horse and better communicate what you want. We will cover things like yield the hindquarters, side-pass, cross a tarp, go through a shower curtain, drag an object, play with a ball, go through water, open and close a gate, and so much more! This one day clinic is $25. Rain date will be Saturday.
