5. Ghost, Ghost, Come Out Tonight

Thursday, October 12th, 2017

@Barter Theatre

Abingdon, VA
Please Note This show contains some content that may not be suitable for younger viewers. Patrons are asked to consider potential adult content when purchasing tickets for this production. &ldquo A Barter Theatre original world premiere murder mystery thriller.&rdquo By Catherine Bush Ian and Liz Crowell purchased several acres of remote woodlands, where they plan to build their dream house. They take best friends, Bruce and Claire Hollingsworth, on a tour followed by celebratory beers around a campfire. Ian reveals the woods are supposedly haunted by a pitchfork-wielding ghost bent on revenge. When a childhood game leads to the discovery of a grisly murder, the couples investigate. You allow yourself to be put under the spell of the story, until the big scare comes where you jump back and, finally, burst into laughter! And that&rsquo s the moment, I think, that makes us love scary stories. That feeling of release and relief when we realize we&rsquo ve lived through it, and of course, we&rsquo re going to make it out alive. So tonight, we&rsquo re going to bring you back around the campfire and tell you a good old-fashioned ghost story. We invite you to huddle a little closer to your neighbor, lean forward, have a scare, then a laugh, all with the knowledge that
